Places to go in Liverpool before the 2nd lockdown hits

With more localised lockdowns coming into effect, it seems inevitable that Liverpool will be facing one of its own before too long. With that in mind, I wanted to put together a list of a few places to eat and drink around Liverpool so that you can try and make the most of what’s definitely been the weirdest summer on record!

For peace of mind, all the places included in the list are following the social distancing guidelines, with track and trace procedures in place and plenty of hand sanitiser available.

Pins Social Club Rooftop Bar – @pinssocialclub

Liverpool is not blessed with many rooftop drinking spots so it was huge news when Pins Social Club launched its rooftop bar in July. Nestled away on Duke Street, you won’t be treated to any panoramic views of the city but you will be able to enjoy some delicious cocktails and tasty food accompanied by an excellent playlist. Ultimate summer vibes guaranteed!

Bombed Out Church Garden Bar – @bocgardenbar

Turncoat Bar, which opened at the Albert Dock earlier this year, has popped up in the gardens of the Bombed Out Church for the summer and is serving up its signature woodfire pizzas and of course it’s delicious gins. A perfect place to spend a sunny afternoon in the city.

Bold Street – @boldstreetofficial

As part of Liverpool without walls, Bold Street has been transformed for the summer. The street has been closed off to traffic and outdoor dining areas installed, meaning you can drink and dine al fresco all summer long, just like they do in Europe. Plus, if like me you absolutely love people watching, this is the perfect set up. Just get yourself a drink, settle in and let the hours pass you by.

Five – @fiveliverpool

Another rooftop bar opened in Liverpool just in time for the summer, this time brought to you by the people behind Epic and Mason’s. Come here for the breathtaking views of the Anglican Cathedral and the city skyline, stay for the delicious cocktails and chilled out vibes. I also absolutely love the luxe decor of this place, it’s an interior dream.

Present Company –

One of my favourite bars in the city, Present Company is a dreamy spot to cosy up in and sip cocktails late into the night. During lockdown these guys set up a delivery service for their most popular cocktails which definitely helped fill the gap, and it’s so great being able to visit them in person once more.  I highly recommend trying their Espresso Martini and Red Dress, both lethal but absolutely delicious!

Where have you been visiting in Liverpool now that the hospitality industry has reopened? Let me know!
