Can you even consider yourself a blogger if you haven’t made a Glossier post?! For years I’ve seen Glossier products featuring in beauty Instagram posts, like the dainty tubes of Cloud Paint and the Priming Moisturiser, but as it was only available in the US and Canada, it became a brand to admire from afar. Then in September, ads started to appear saying it was going to ship to the UK and I started to curate my Glossier wish list. I did plenty of research, reading product reviews and learning about the brand’s ethos, “skincare first, makeup second”, and despite having to wait an extra month after the launch to make my first order, due to indecisiveness and a lack of funds after some serious pay day shopping at the beginning of the last month, I have F I N A L L Y got my hands on some Glossier and oh my was it worth the wait!
First off, the packaging is just so cute and quirky. I am becoming increasingly obsessed with the whole millennial pink thing, and the zip lock bag with pink bubble wrap lining that the products arrive in is legit going to be my new makeup bag. The packaging design for all the individual products also looks so clean and minimal. All the items will definitely stand out in my makeup bag. I ordered the Cloud Paint in Beam, the Boy Brow gel in Brown and Generation G lip balm in Like. My order also came with two free samples: the Milk Jelly Cleanser and the new Glossier You perfume.
Cloud Paint in Beam. Lets start with the product that sparked my Glossier interest. I’ve always been a powder blush kinda girl, so this gel one was new territory for me. Reassuringly though, Glossier designed it to be the “most user friendly cheek colour in existence.” I was torn between the Beam and Puff shade, and found it helpful that there are videos of the products being applied on different skin tones, meaning you get a good idea of how it’ll actually look on you. The tubes were smaller than I thought they would be and initially I thought it wasn’t much product for the actual price, but now I’ve used it, I realise that you only need a tiny amount, so it should last a while. The colour looks really intense but blends out nicely for a flushed peachy look.
Boy Brow gel in Brown. I’ve been a long time fan of the Benefit Gimmie Brow gel and heard that this was just as good, if not better so I was very intrigued. You don’t get many shade options but that’s not a huge issue. The brush makes it really easy to apply and build up the product and I like that it doesn’t leave the brows feeling hard and crunchy like some gels tend to.
Generation G lip balm in Like. This is designed to give your lips that “just blotted lipstick with out the blot.”I went for the Like shade, which is a powdery pink and gives you natural lips with a little oomph, if you get what I mean. The formula is really light and hydrating, so feels nice to wear and reapplies well. I think I’ll be getting this in a few more shades.
Glossier You perfume. This perfume is designed to smell differently on every person who wears it, a ‘human-y’ smell that is ‘creamy, sparkling, clean and warm’. I really love this perfume, and have not be able to stop smelling my wrists all day. It smells so soft and comforting and intoxicating. It’s definitely going on my Christmas wish list.
Milk Jelly Cleanser. This has been hailed as the ultimate cleanser by some many bloggers as not only does it cleanse your skin, but it is also designed to remove your makeup, even stubborn eye makeup. It’s something I’ve wanted to try for a while but I’m always reluctant to buy a new cleanser without trying a sample first. I actually liked using it as it didn’t make my skin feel really dry and tight like a lot of face washes do although I did still need to use some extra eye makeup remover post shower to get everything off.
Two shameless selfies wearing my lovely new Glossier products!
